Kathryn Guarisco

Kathryn Guarisco lost her battle with Parkinsons on March 19, 2022, at Hospice House of North Idaho.

Survived by her high school sweetheart, Nick, her sister Bobbie Allen who still lives in Spokane, two daughters, Pam Stone, and Teresa Henderson along with their husbands Lee Stone and Bill Henderson. Her grandchildren are Mike Delaney, Mandy Averill, Nichole Labrador, Erin Blakley, Jake Casey, and James Henderson, and 11, wonderful great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born in Spokane to Edward (Smitty) and Margaret Smith in 1941, and met the love of her life, Nick, at West Valley High School where she was on the cheer team. They got married in 1960 and moved up the Coeurd’ Alene River to start their family, then moved to CDA in 1964.

She loved gardening, camping, fishing, boating, painting, ceramics, and sewing. Summers were filled with family camping trips and vacations.

She was very talented and started a home decor business in the 80’s and traveled to craft shows with her sister Bobbie. She also worked as a florist at Tidyman’s Grocery store.

She was the best grandmother and always had time to take the grandkids to movies, out to eat, and to the parks. She spent countless hours on the floor playing with dolls and cars or whatever the favorite toy of the day was. She never missed a school function or athletic event.

Kathy was a big basketball and baseball fan and loved to watch both men's and women's Gonzaga basketball teams along with the Golden State Warriors.
