Larry Keith Addington

Larry Keith Addington passed away on March 15, 2026, at the age of 84 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, surrounded by family. Larry was born on March 30, 1941, in Spokane, Washington, to Glenn and Leone Addington. He spent his formative years in Harrison and Coeur d’Alene with his sisters, Glenna, Mary, and Judy, and his brother, Kenny.

In 1964, Larry joined the United States military, where he met his beautiful bride, Janice. They were married on January 14, 1966, beginning a partnership that lasted 60 years.

After the Army, Larry served as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State. Throughout his career, Larry and Jan traveled the world, living in India, Stockholm, Poland, France, Germany, Yemen, and Liberia. In 1967, they welcomed their son, Christopher John (CJ) Addington, followed by their daughter, Jennifer Addington, in 1969. Larry cared deeply for his family, and Janice, CJ, Jennifer, and their dog Zoey were by his side when he passed.

During a break from the Foreign Service, Larry pursued another passion, moving his family to Sitka, Alaska, where he worked as a bush pilot and aircraft mechanic. After retiring, he continued flying with River City Helicopters, supporting firefighting efforts along the West Coast.

Larry was also an avid car enthusiast. He was a longtime member of the 55/56/57 Chevy Club and later joined the Corvette Club, where he and Jan participated in car cruises around Coeur d’Alene. They enjoyed boating Lake Coeur d’Alene, visiting family in Canada, and traveling in their motorhome to national parks.

Larry will be remembered as a quiet man with a sly sense of humor, a love of milkshakes, and devotion to his family. He will be missed.

Services will be held at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene later.
