Larry Ewert Jr.

Larry Ewert Jr., age 65 of Coeur d’Alene, passed away in his sleep on April 30, 2026. Born on November 13, 1960, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Lawrence and Shirley, Larry grew up in various towns from Bellevue, Washington, Springfield, Oregon to Orangevale, California, where he graduated high school in 1979 from Casa Roble High School. After high school, Larry worked with his father welding and constructing Melco Steel buildings in California.

Larry met Roberta Robinson in 1979 at church in North Highlands, California. They married in 1981 and shared 45 wonderful years together. After living in several locations, including Modesto and Chico, they eventually settled in Coeur d’Alene. They became members of Coeur d’Alene First Assembly where Larry taught Sunday school, played on the men’s softball team, and joined a short trip missionary team to Costa Rica, the trip of a lifetime. Larry and Roberta raised their son, Travis, in Coeur d’Alene and enjoyed a full and vibrant life. Larry was a talented certified welder and worked in building and maintenance for Crescent Homes, the Coeur d’Alene School District, and the city of Coeur d’Alene.

In his youth, Larry was a gifted athlete, playing high school football and baseball, and even becoming a state wrestling champion. His love for sports continued throughout his life; he was a successful softball coach who led two women’s slow-pitch teams to championships and served as a dedicated umpire for local park and recreation games for many years. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing, once catching a near-state record northern pike at Hayden Lake.

Larry is survived by his wife Roberta, son Travis (Aimee), grandsons Jackson and Griffin, sister Lorraine (Steve), Father Lawrence (Ruth) and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley, and sister Kathy and grandparents.
