Linda Remmick

Linda R Remmick, 70

A native to the area, Linda was born at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash., on June 10, 1948. She started school in Spokane, moved with her family to Post Falls, Idaho, in 1963, and graduated high school in Post Falls. She graduated from the University of Idaho in Moscow (Go Vandals!) with a bachelor’s in education, focusing on physical education and history. She loved sports: whether playing, watching or coaching. She loved fishing and canoeing, but seldom took time out for herself to enjoy it.

Linda did some teaching at the high school level, worked with the after-school activities programs and summer camp, plus worked many hours in the office for the Coeur d’Alene YMCA. Her most rewarding work was as site manager for local senior centers — starting with Post Falls, then Rathdrum, then Spirit Lake. For a while she did all three at the same time. A lot of miles up and down the highway. She decided her efforts needed to be concentrated to a single location and chose the Rathdrum Senior Center, where she worked as site manager to provide nutritious, affordable meals, both at the center as well as home delivered, for more than 20 years.

She passed away on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018.

Linda is survived by her brothers, Ron Remmick of Post Falls and Chuck Remmick of Hayden; sister, Merrilee Remmick of Coeur d’Alene; plus a large, extended family of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother.

A private family memorial will be held at English Funeral Chapel.
