Lynn Rasmussen

Lynn David Rasmussen, 75, born in Murray, Utah, passed away on Nov. 25, 2019. Lynn was one of eight children born to Ralph and Edith Rasmussen. He moved with his family to Coeur d’Alene in 1963, where he met his wife of 51 years, Myrna Holt. Lynn served in the Army during the Vietnam War, serving from 1965-1967. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum in 1999 after 35 years with the company. He was a life-time member of the VFW, NRA and the United Steelworkers Union.

Lynn spent his entire adult life in the Wolf Lodge area with his wife Myrna, raising their two daughters and spending as much time as possible with their three grandchildren. Lynn spent his free time hunting, fishing, gardening, quad-riding, camping and working in his shop. Lynn had an amazing talent to diagnose and repair any car. He was always willing to help anyone that needed it. He was a jack of all trades, master of none. He always told his daughters he could fix everything but a broken heart.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Myrna; daughters Michelle (David) Morrow and Sarah Rasmussen; son-in-law, Chet Sistek; and grandchildren Katalina Pelz, Nicholas Pelz, Mason Sistek, Thomas Morrow and Alisa Morrow. He leaves behind a brother, Dean (ValJean) Rasmussen, and a sister, Linda Saxton.

The family would like to thank all of those that came to celebrate Lynn’s life before he passed. lt means so much that you were able to spend some time with him. Thank you to all the family, friends and neighbors that brought food and helped take care of things the past few months; we feel very blessed to live in such a supportive community.

A life celebration time will be scheduled at a later date.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Borah Elementary School, 632 E. Borah Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.
