Margaret J. Unruh

Joanie was born on March 20th,1953 in Santa Monica, California. She lived in different places like Grass Valley, California. When she was 16, they moved to Elk, Washington. Their house burned down and then they moved to Deer Park, Washington. While living there she fell in love and married her husband Dion Unruh of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in May of 1978. Together they moved to oak Harbor, Washington. Within a Year they were living in Bremerton, Washington. When her husband was discharged from the Navy they moved back to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. While living in North Idaho her first daughter Aundrea was born in 1980. In 1981 they move to Dallas, Texas. While in Texas her second daughter Rebekah was born in 1983. Then in 1985 they moved back to North Idaho where she would live the rest of her life.

She is survived by her husband Dion Unruh, Her daughters Aundrea Farmer (Daniel), and Rebekah Farmer (Jonathan). Her grandchildren Ethan Farmer, Neisha (Farmer) Thompson, Gabriel Farmer, Naomi Farmer, Hazel Farmer, Lona Farmer, Abrianna Farmer, and Madeline Farmer. She also has a brother living in Spokane Valley and a sister still living in California, as well as nieces and nephews living in various places.

Joanie enjoyed camping with her family, fishing, hunting, cross stitch, and drawing wildlife with a pencil. Some of her favorite outdoor activities included flower and vegetable gardening. She enjoyed sharing with others about different plants and bugs. If someone came and asked her about a plant or a bug, she would gladly share all the information she could. She loved animals and usually knew what if anything was wrong with them. In the last few years of her life with failing health she enjoyed looking out the sliding glass door in her living room and watching the deer eat the neighbor’s plants and watching the quail. She liked to see the quail babies in the spring and watch them grow.

She passed away peacefully on September the 12th, 2025 at approximately 1:10PM, surrounded by her family. She is now in the very presence of the Lord she loved and served with her family.
