Margaret Louise West

Margaret Louise (Schorle) Parker-West, known to most as Maggie, died peacefully at home in the arms of her loved ones on Sunday April 6th, 2025, in Post Falls, ID, at the age of 91.

Maggie was born in Orange County, CA on October 24th, 1933, to Clifford and Florence Schorle. She was the youngest of four siblings: her brother Don, her sister Dorthy (Dort), and her brother Tom. Maggie graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1951. During her time there, she lettered in flute while playing in the high school band. She often spoke fondly of her memories performing in the Disneyland parade and the Rose Bowl.

Maggie had five children: Michael Parker, Kim Parker, Annie Parker, Greta Parker, Larry Jr. (Deuce) West. During the 1960s, she lived in the small towns of Clarkia and Avery, Idaho, where she created many lasting memories with her young family. She later returned to California and worked as a legal secretary for Bill Garman for 23 years before eventually moving back to Idaho in 1990, where she continued her career as a legal secretary until retiring to care for her daughter Greta. Maggie was an avid sports watcher her entire life- she loved the Dodgers and cheering for the Zags! She also had a deep love of music and enjoyed playing the organ in her spare time. One of her other passions was quilting, and she proudly won blue ribbons at the county fair for her work. Maggie collected elephant and owl figurines, a hobby that many will always fondly remember her for. She was known for her humor, wit, spunk, kindness and unconditional love. She was smart (the human dictionary!), strong, patient, independent and a proud American Patriot who wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. Her loss will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her legacy will be carried on by those she left behind.

Maggie is survived by her daughters, Kim Parker, Annie Parker and Greta Parker and her son Larry (Deuce) West. Her grandchildren Jon Miller, Michelle (Erik) Sorensen, Andrew (Melissa) Miller, Scott Miller, Melissa (Chad) Ehrmantraut, Elizabeth and Olivia West. Her great grandchildren Riley (Caleb) Hvizdos, Aidan Ehrmantraut, Evan Ehrmantraut, Jonathan Miller, Logan Miller, Drew Miller, Michael Miller, Johnathan Miller, James Miller, Gabriel Miller, and Brayden Miller. She is also survived by her great-great grandson, Parker Hvizdos. Maggie leaves behind her niece Joan Paustell of Burns Flat, OK; Jim, Linda and Debbie Walling of Mooreland, OK; and her great-nephew Joel (Kerry) Hart of Coeur d’ Alene, ID.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her son Michael Parker, her siblings and many wonderful friends she met along the way. She was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by those who had gone before her- a glorious reunion that filled the heavens with joy and love, bringing comfort to those she left behind as they cherish the memories of her beautiful life.

A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion on Saturday, June 14th from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
