Our final thoughts on a life well lived from the children of Marjorie Beeler-Canfield 1922-2019

Our mother was a quiet, but strong, presence in our life that gave guidance but allowed us to make our own mistakes. No child could ask for a more perfect mother. No matter where we lived, our home was always a welcome respite from the outside world. We are reminded of lyrics in favorite songs that words now come from our hearts.

“Did you ever know that you’re my hero,

And everything I would like to be?

I can fly higher than an eagle,

‘cause you are the wind beneath my wings.”

Mom left a legacy of perfection in everything that her life touched; from her marriage to Fred Canfield Jr., to her children, and her position as a Grade School Secretary in Beaverton, Oregon school district. Her contributions to the lives she touched will resonate forever with those who were privileged to be a part of mom’s world.

Lyrics from the song “My Way” describes mom’s life perhaps more adequately than any thoughts we, who celebrate her life, might share.

“I’ve lived a life that’s full

I traveled each and every highway

And more, much more than this

I did it in my way.”

“ Yes there were times I’m sure you knew

When I bit off more than I could chew

But though it all when there was doubt

I ate it up and spit it out, I faced it all

And I stood tall and did it my way.”

Passing is a part of life all will experience. Memories will remain and for those memories we will be forever grateful.

Rest in Peace, Mom.
