Mary Margaret Adams

Margie Adams (Mary Margaret Braun), 83, passed away on March 19, 2026, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Margie was born on May 11, 1942, in Strasburg, North Dakota, to Ralph and Cecilia Braun. She was raised in Kellogg, Idaho, and graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Wallace, Idaho. She married Chuck Adams on November 26, 1960, and they were together 61 years. Her values were evident in the way she embodied compassion, generosity, and devotion to others.

Margie was, above all, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She built her life around the people she loved, always striving to make family the center of everything she did. Her home reflected that love—filled with photographs, memories, and the unmistakable warmth she offered so freely to others. If you were hungry, she would feed you. If you needed a place to stay, she would open her door. If you needed comfort, she was always the first to offer a hug.

She found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. Each spring, she delighted in planting flowers, loved reading, and hosted holiday gatherings with her siblings and their families (Hatterys, Brauns, Ganleys). Margie and Chuck made cherished memories hunting for grouse in the Lochsa with the Bush family, snowmobiling to their family cabin in the Coeur d’Alene National Forest, traveling with their friends the Turners, Starks, and Brooks, spending time at her lake home on Coeur d’Alene Lake, or inviting their neighbor friends, The Cropps, over for a beverage.

Margie brought people together with ease. She was known for her warm, genuine smile, her compassion, and her sense of style.

Margie also carried a lighthearted spirit. As her father once joked, “Tell her a joke on Sunday and she’ll get it on Tuesday”—a saying that brought her and those around her many smiles over the years.

She faced profound loss in her life, including the heartbreaking passing of her eldest son at the age of 18, a grief she carried with quiet strength and resilience.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Cecilia Braun; her beloved husband, Chuck Adams; and her eldest son, Chuck Adams, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Craig Adams, Keri Adams, and Steven Adams (Candace); her grandchildren, Jacqui Nelson (Oscar), Jacob Adams, Marie Adams, Chuckie Adams (Madi), Rocky Adams, and Wesley Adams; and her great-grandchildren, Maliyah Adams-Hoopii, Summer Adams, and Jett Adams.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, 12pm- 3pm at The Eagles Lodge in downtown Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Margie will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the life she built around connection, and the countless ways she made others feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. Her legacy lives on in the family and friendships she cherished so deeply.
