Mary Jacobs Yager

Mary was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on December 16, 1956 to Harold and Cecelia (Gribnau) Jacobs. She was the “baby” of the family being the seventh and final Jacobs child. Mary left her earthly body early on the morning of October 14, 2022 with her loving husband of 47 years, Don Yager, by her side. Her death occurred exactly 10 years to the date of her mother’s passing.

Mary grew up in Coeur d’Alene attending St. Thomas Elementary and graduating from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1975. She attended North Idaho College where she earned a Certificate of Completion in Computer Science.

Mary married Don Yager on June 11, 1977. Together they made their home in Spokane Valley where Mary owned and operated a small accounting service for 42 years, Yager Bookeeping. She also worked alongside her husband in their business Yager Sails building sails for boats sailed throughout the country.

Mary and Don enjoyed traveling and scuba diving in many different countries. She also loved spending time on their sail boat moored in Blaine, Washington. She also loved spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Don, her brothers Bob Jacobs of Hayden, Idaho and Larry (Mary) Jacobs of Coeur d’Alene, her sisters Dolores Johnson of Coeur d’Alene, Linda (Bob) Ely of Rathdrum and Gayle (Jim) Foote of Hayden. Mary had numerous nieces and nephews who always loved spending time with her and will miss her terribly. She was preceded in death by her parents, parent’s in-law Don and Ellen Yager, brother Don Jacobs, nephew Patrick Jacobs, niece Amy Jacobs and brother-in-law Mark Yager.

A graveside service will be held at Riverview Cemetery, 1065 N Lincoln Way, on October 29, 2022 at 11:00 am.
