Mavis Justus

Mavis Lucile Justus, 92, passed in Liberty Lake, Wash., on Sept. 20, 2018.

Mavis was born April 24, 1926, to Jessie and Ralph Stackhouse on a small dairy farm in Oshkosh, Neb., where she lived with her three brothers and a sister. The Depression caused them to sell and move to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, (that’s where the truck broke down).

She attended Coeur d’Alene High School and later married Howard Justus on Nov. 11, 1947, in Las Vegas, Nev. They spent 66 years together, built a home on the Spokane River in Post Falls, Idaho, and traveled the world.

Mavis is survived by her daughter, Janet, and son-in-law, Joseph Perez.

Mavis and her husband’s urn will be placed in their companion niche at Forest Cemetery this fall.
