Maxine Y. Hanson

Maxine Yvonne Hanson, age 87, passed away to her heavenly home on Monday, May 18, 2026. She was born on September 3rd, 1938 in Duluth, Minnesota to Edward and Lillian (Tuuri) Heikkila. In her early 20’s she moved to Portland, Oregon where she met and married Virgil (Clyde) Wood. They spent most of their married years as traveling evangelists. They bought a home in Ontario, Oregon where they lived until Clyde’s passing. Maxine later married Ivan Hanson, who she met through a family acquaintance. They sold the house in Ontario and moved to Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho where Ivan’s children lived. Maxine loved reading her Bible, her favorite chapter was Psalm 91.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wesley; nephew, Brian; and both husbands. Survived by brothers, Terry (LuAnn) Heikkila and Grant (Eileen) Heikkila. She will be laid to rest next to Ivan in Coeur d’ Alene.  Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday June 8, 2026, at the Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens in Coeur d'Alene, ID.
