Michelle “Chellee” Kay Winter, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on April 2, 2025, at Spokane Hospice House after a brave and enduring battle with diabetes that resulted in renal and vascular failure. Chellee was 55 years old.
Born on March 10, 1970, in Kellogg, Idaho, Chellee was the daughter of Robert Nash and Terrie Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her maternal grandparents, Doris and Elmer Rosenau, paternal grandparents, Frankie and Bob McCoy, cousin Emily McCoy-Gruszka, and her mother in law Barbara Winter.
Chellee is survived by her loving husband, Craig Winter; her cherished son, Ty Winter; her adoring sister, Suzie Mize; her nephew, Isaiah Mize; her uncle, Michael McCoy; aunt, Julie McCoy; and her cousin Todd McCoy, as well as her husband’s aunt Pat Winter and uncle Larry Winter. She also leaves behind a large circle of lifelong friends who considered her family.
Chellee was known for her deep love of family and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. She was a loyal daughter, a protective sister, a loving wife, and a proud mother. Her heart was filled with affection for her five fur babies, who brought her endless joy and companionship. Chellee’s love for animals was well-known, and she always felt their unconditional love in return.
A lover of the outdoors Chellee enjoyed camping (let’s be real – GLAMPING was her style) and spending summers boating in various locations, of which her favorite was Lake Roosevelt, where she embraced the beauty of nature and cherished precious moments with her family and friends.
Professionally, Chellee built a diverse career spanning hospitality, administration, and human resources. She spent her final years as a licensed insurance agent with PAC Insurance Group, where she found a second family. Her passion for her work and the relationships she built there brought her great fulfillment.
Despite facing significant health challenges for well over a decade, Chellee’s strength and zest for life never wavered. Her courage, combined with her radiant smile and angelic eyes, brightened the lives of all who knew her. Her infectious personality and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of encountering her.
Chellee will be deeply missed, but her light will forever shine in the hearts of all those she touched. May her memory live on in the love she shared, the laughter she brought, and the kindness she so freely gave.
A celebration of Chellee’s life will be held at a later date.
Rest in peace, Chellee. You will forever be loved.
