Nadine Petrich, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and philanthropist, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Sunday, March 22, 2020 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Nadine was born January 3, 1927, in Yakima, Washington, to Orland and Pearl Tonnemaker. As a young girl in central Washington, Nadine loved picking cherries on her grandparent's and later her father's farm, even earning the title of champion cherry picker. She graduated from Prosser High School and went on to graduate from Washington State University with a degree in Business Administration. The Cougars always had a special place in her heart and she was a big sport's fan. Nadine married Walt Chamberlin in June of 1950, and their daughter Sandra was born in 1951. The family moved to Burien, Washington in 1954. When Walt became a quadriplegic due to Multiple Sclerosis, Nadine faithfully cared for him for 12 years until his death in 1970.
In June of 1972 Nadine married Raymond Petrich and gained two step children Dawn and Dean Petrich. Together Nadine and Ray traveled extensively and managed to visit every continent except Australia. They loved going on cruises, competing in ping pong tournaments, attending Cougar and Husky football games, serving on the Board of Emmanual Christian Seminary, and giving to many organizations and individuals. Nadine attended Highline Christian Church for 65 years and was an active participant in ladies' Bible study until 2018, when she went to live with her daughter and son-in-law Art and Sandy Boyman, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. There she attended Canvas church and was doted upon by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nadine was preceded in death by her first husband Walt Chamberlin, second husband Ray, brother Gene Tonnemaker, her nephew's wife Sonia Tonnemaker and her granddaughter Jennifer Dukovich (Boyman).
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Art and Sandy Boyman of Coeur d"Alene, Idaho, stepson Dean Petrich of Whidbey Island,stepdaughter Dawn Petrich of Las Vegas, grandson Jeremy Boyman of Hayden, Idaho, grandson Micah Petrich of Whidbey Island, granddaughter Kimberly Klingsheim of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, twelve great grandchildren and her nephews Kole Tonnemaker of Royal City, Washington and Kurt Tonnemaker of Seattle and their families.
A memorial will be held at a later date in Buirien, Washington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nadine's honor to Highline Christian Church in Burien, Washington.
