Nancy Werth

Nancy Louise Werth, 87, formerly from Minden, Nebraska, passed away on July 3, 2021 at Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  A memorial service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden, Nebraska on Friday, July 16th at 10:30am with Pastor Duane Duhley officiating.   Interment will be at the Minden Cemetery after the memorial service.

Nancy was born to Neal and Louise (McCall) Brown.  She grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School.  Nancy attended college at Nebraska Wesleyan University and studied elementary education.

While attending college, Nancy met her husband, Robert Werth, and they were united in marriage on August 30, 1954.  Robert and Nancy made their home in Minden, Nebraska where they farmed for many years.  After retiring from farming, Nancy worked at the Minden Public Library.

Nancy’s passion was her volunteerism to her Church and her community.  She taught Sunday School, youth catechism and coordinated Vacation Bible School for many years at St. Paul Lutheran Church.  She served as the Nebraska South District President and as a national delegate for the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML).  In her community, she served as Chair for the Kearney County Extension Clubs.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Jeffrey Werth (Pamela) of Whitehall, Michigan and her daughter Susan Leptich (David) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  Children of Jeffrey are Levi and Nathaniel. Children of Susan is her daughter Jamie and her stepchildren Keith and Adam (Douglas Catt), Timothy, Michael and Jeannette (David Leptich).

Her husband Robert Werth preceded Nancy in death.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Nancy’s honor are kindly suggested to the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden.
