Oscar York

Oscar Earl York, was born October 22nd, 1946 in Modesto California to Lorene and Christopher York. He was raised living the quiet country life in Nevada. He always spoke fondly of his childhood memories.

He moved to Coeur d’Alene Idaho in the 70’s For a career opportunity at Kootenai Medical Center. He worked in respiratory therapy for 30 years, as well as logging on the side to fulfill his passion for the outdoors. He had a strong work ethic, and worked up until the day before he passed away.

His true love however was his family. He worked hard to provide, but always made time to make memories, lend an ear or a helping hand. He was a man of many riddles and endless wisdom.  He was patient and kind, a loving family member and friend to many.

He was our hero, our mentor and best friend. He loved spending time at the cabin, fishing, and always had a book In hand. He was filled with mystery, amazing stories, and would never fail to keep you on your  toes. Oscar was a man of faith who lived a full life, and made it clear how blessed he felt every day.

He was greeted by his loved ones in heaven  July 21, 2020. He passed peacefully at home.

Oscar is survived by his wife, Robin York; two daughters: Bandera York and Fawnda Nosworthy and son in law Chris “ George” Nosworthy of Hayden; three grandsons: Cameren, Colbey Nosworthy and Croix Kendall.  Many aunts, cousins and friends.

He is loved and will be missed dearly. We are all better people for having known him. Papa bear, Daddyo, SOS, Osci, Osc...We are forever grateful for you and will carry you in our hearts forever!

A celebration of life will be held in his honor and announced when the time is right.
