Richard Lindsey

Mr. Fixit goes to Heaven

Richard B. Lindsey “Dick”

5-30-1927  3-20-2019

Our Husband, Dad, GrandPa, Uncle, Mentor, Friend & Rock, quietly left this world to join those that have passed before him.

His ability to fix almost anything endeared him to many folks throughout the area.  He was Loving, Faithful, Kind, Humble, Honest and Determined.

Dad`s first marriage was to Joan (Joanie ) Tellman. They were married for 56 years. Mom passed in 2004. They sang together in the church choir for over thirty years.  Both were involved in Eastern Star for nearly 50 years.

Dad was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Shriner’s.  As a Shriner Clown he made many folks smile while wearing his clown suit and those big floppy clown shoes.  Those wonderful shoes now adorn my home and serve as a daily reminder of the character my father possessed.

Dad loved tinkering in his work shop. Besides fixing stuff, he made many creations for those he loved.

Just two months shy of his 92 birthday he set out on his last earthly journey.  He and his wife Charlotte  loaded their class A motor home and set out for sunny Arizona. With several setbacks along the way, he persevered and successfully made his way to their destination.  It was there that he was struck with a rapidly advancing bacterial infection and passed comfortably with his family beside him.

Dad was very proud of his military service.  He served with the United States Army Air Corp.

Dad is survived by his wife Charlotte at the family home; sister Betty Willingham of Coeur d’Alene, ID.  His eldest son Rich of Priest Lake, ID; daughter, Denise and family of Coeur d’Alene, ID; youngest son Dale of Post Falls, ID; granddaughters Jessi Lindsey of Coeur d’Alene, ID and Jennifer Davide of Port Orchard, WA;  several great & great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews.

He is also survived by step son Ralph Eagleburger and 4 step grandchildren.

A celebration of Dick's life will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday May 4, 2019, at the English Funeral Chapel,  1133 N. 4th St., in Coeur d’Alene, ID.
