Robert L. (Bob) Mader

Robert “Bob” L. Mader, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep May 10, 2025, at the age of 78. A man of quiet strength and unwavering dedication, he was a constant source of love and support to all who knew him.

Bobby shared 40 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Sharon, whose companionship brought warmth and joy to his life. He was a proud father to four children: Ben Hengen, Amy Cheesman (George), Jeffrey Mader (Kerry), and Sandra Brewer (Ryan). His love for his family was unwavering, especially for his four grandchildren — Ashley, Courtney, Braylon and Eliana.

Bob served two years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.

He spent much of his career in both the medical and aerospace fields. Bob’s professional journey included roles at Deaconess Medical Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Boeing and Providence Medical Group in Spokane. He was respected not only for his skill and reliability but also for his humility and willingness to lend a hand.

As an uncle, Bobby was a trusted confidant and role model. As an older sibling, he remained forever the big brother — protective, steady and unshakable in his love. He is survived by his siblings Gloria, Marilyn and Paul, who will forever hold his memory close.

Charismatic and full of life, Bobby had a remarkable gift for storytelling. His stories, often told with a glint in his eye and a grin on his face, connected generations and brought loved ones closer together.

Bobby’s presence will be deeply missed, but the love, laughter and lessons he shared will continue to live on in all those who knew him. He now joins his beloved sister, Shirley Amr, brother-in-law Booy, and parents Joan and Bud in eternal rest — a reunion of hearts whose bonds remain everlasting.

At Bob’s request, no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in his memory to Hospice of Spokane Valley, an organization that provided care and compassion in his final days.
