Robert Raymond “Bobby” Putnam, affectionately known as Cowboy Bob, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, in Garwood, Idaho, at the age of 71. Born on April 20, 1954, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Bobby was the beloved son of Raymond and Helen Putnam.
Bobby’s life was marked by kindness and determination. He grew up in Coeur d’Alene and attended local schools before pursuing further education through Tesh courses and Renewed Horizons. Bobby also excelled in the Special Olympics, earning multiple medals and numerous ribbons in equestrian events. His adventurous spirit took him beyond Idaho to destinations such as New Mexico, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, and Fort Worth, Texas, where he experienced the thrill of riding a longhorn steer.
He is survived by Howard and Pam Estes of Garwood; his sister, Sue (Lyle) Baker of Salem, Oregon; nephew Wes (Hannah) Baker; and grand-nephews Elliott and Orion Baker.
