Roberta L. "Bert" Whipple

In Loving Memory of Roberta Louise Whipple, affectionally known as “Bert", passed away on October 11, 2025, surrounded by the people who meant the most to her. She was born on July 28, 1948, in Spokane valley, and from the very beginning, she brought joy, laughter, and light into the lives of everyone who knew her.

Bert is survived by her husband and best friend, Gordie Whipple, and her two beloved sons, AJ and Eddy Whipple, who were truly her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her father Joe Harvey, mother Laura Harvey, sister Alice Lafferty , and brother Eddy Harvey, all of whom she loved deeply and now rejoins in peace.

Bert lived life with an open heart and an adventurous spirit. She was always ready for a laugh, a road trip, or a new challenge. Whether it was snowmobiling, water skiing, spending time with her horses, or organizing family and friend gatherings, Bert made every moment fun and full of life.

In her younger years, she worked as a banker, but her most cherished and important role came later—as a stay-at-home mom. Her boys were her world, and there was nothing she loved more than being “Mom.” She poured her heart into every school event, race weekend, and family adventure. Bert was also a proud race wife and race mom—always cheering loudest and supporting her family through every turn.

She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, for turning ordinary days into special memories, and for loving people just as they were. Her laughter was contagious, her hugs were healing, and her kitchen was always a place where love was served right alongside something delicious.

A celebration of life/service will be held on October 25, 2025, at St. Joseph Church, located at 4521 N. Arden Rd., Otis Orchards, WA 99207, at 12:00. A reception/gathering will follow at Azteca 14700 E Indiana Ave.

She lived for her family, and there was truly nothing more important to her. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave will live on in all of us forever.

Bert will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and unshakable love for her family — a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
