Ronald H. Johnson

Ronald Henry Johnson, 81, passed away March 4, 2024. Ron was born September 8, 1942 to George and Edna (Olsen) Johnson in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Ron was a graduate of Sandpoint High School in 1961 and attended North Idaho College as well as Idaho State College in Pocatello before signing up for the U.S. Army Reserves.

Ron was employed by the U.S. Forest Service at the Sandpoint Ranger Station. He was transferred to the Glacier View Ranger Station in Columbia Falls, Mt. in 1970. In 1974 he was hired by Louisiana Pacific in a timber management capacity. The company transferred Ron to Post Falls, and later to the Chilco Mill. Ron was retired from then Riley Creek Corporation in 2008.

Ron is survived by his wife of 53 years Linda (Perkins) Johnson, Rathdrum, Idaho. Sons Bradley, wife Kem; Ronald Todd, wife Jennifer, all of Post Falls, and 6 grandchildren. Sisters-in-laws Elaine Johnson and Arlene Johnson, both of Pocatello, Idaho, and brother-in-law Bruce Jameson of Rathdrum. And many much loved nieces and nephews.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Robert and Russell both of Pocatello, sisters Faye and brother-in-law Alan Keith Smith and Gerry and brother-in-law Joseph Venishnick all of Post Falls.

Graveside services will be planned for a later date. The family suggests memorials can be made to Kootenai Humane Society (Companions) and North Idaho Hospice.
