Ronald Kermit Mills was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on January 1, 1937, to Kermit and Jeannette Mills. He was the oldest brother to Sherrild (Deceased) David of Southern Idaho and sister Margaret of Hayden.
Ron passed away on July 12, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He is now reunited with his wife Betty and son Ronnie.
Ron spent his life as a heavy equipment operator, building dams, working in the woods, and building roads. Ronald owned “RBD Road Builders” which stood for Ron, Betty, and Dina. He enjoyed working beside his son in law Paul Hourlland on many construction projects.
Ron’s biggest love in life was his wife, Betty, of 65 years. It truly broke his heart when she passed away suddenly April 4, 2023. His second love was being “Poppy” to his four grandchildren Lacie, Kylee, Mikinzie and Samuel, 6 great-grandkids, Maiah, Kinley, Ronan, Leonidas, Orion and Decker, 1 great-great-grandson Jaxon born on Betty’s 84th birthday on February 26, 2023.
Ron was a good guy who opened his heart to all. His family and friends always came first. We all will miss that smile of his, but he will forever be in our hearts.
A big thank you to all our caregivers throughout the years and to Auburn Crest Hospice. We are grateful for you all.
There will be an open celebration for Ron and Betty at 11:00 a.m. on September 2, 2023, on the beach off of The Dike Road behind North Idaho College. There will be a coffee hour after at Elmers Restaurant on Appleway where you may also purchase food.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
