Ronald Tholow Zimmerman

It is with a heavy heart that we say, Ronald T. Zimmerman, M.D., passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28th, 2025. He passed at the Schneidmiller House, Hospice of North Idaho (Hummingbirds Meadow), in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho with his daughter, her husband, and grandson by his side.

Ronald was born to Raymond (William) Zimmerman and Audra Louise (Findlay) Zimerman on 06/20/1936 in Sacramento, CA. His only sister Sandra L. Zimmerman born 12/28/1939 predeceased Ronald in 2012.

Ronald worked in California at the Sacramento County Hospital, Santa Cruz County Hospital as well as the San Joaquin County General Hospital. He is fondly remembered by his patients in the Tracy area due to his private practice of many years known as Medical Associates of Tracy. He moved further North to the Lake and Mendocino County areas and practiced there specializing in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics until he went into “semi-retirement”. Ronald will be remembered for always attending medical conferences and continuing his medical education clear until his passing.

Ronald enjoyed most of all food and travel! He has traveled to Ireland, Northern Italy and Switzerland, Central Europe, went to the Galapagos Islands, New Zealand, lived and worked in Puerto Rico, has dual citizenship in Belize, but most of all seemed to love Greece.

Ronald’s daughter Erika and son James will keep ashes and grandson Andrew will spread some in the ocean off then East Coast, but most importantly and probably to his great pleasure looking down on us, his step-son Stelios will take the remainder of his ashes to be spread in Greece, a Country he greatly admired and loved traveling to.

He is survived by his close companion and dear friend Dena Fagundes/Coggins family (Tracy, CA). His daughter Vernita L. (Zimmerman) Vasquez, her husband Gabriel, and their daughter Jessi Diaz and her husband Moises and their children Cataleya and Timoteo. His daughter Zoe A. Zimmerman and her children Sonia R.
