Roy Brandt

Roy Leonard Brandt (83) passed away on August 16, 2020, just shy of his 84th birthday at his home in Spirit Lake, ID. He was born in Minneapolis, MN to Leonard and Olive Brandt, the youngest of 3 children. He spent his early years growing up in Minneapolis, MN. As a young boy he was involved in the Boy Scouts. After graduating from Roosevelt High School he enlisted in the USAF, he served from November 29, 1954 through September 2, 1958 as a jet aircraft/jet bomber mechanic. He remained in the reserves until November 28, 1962. After the service he returned to Minneapolis where he began work in US Postal Service. He met Eleanor Oliver and they were married on March 6, 1965. They moved to the Lynnwood, WA, area where he continued work in the Postal Service. She preceded him in death on December 18, 1986.

He met Jeanette (Bunnie) or as he lovingly referred to her as "my little sugar lump". And as fate would have it, he realized he had been delivering mail to 2 of the house she had lived in and a work location. Along with Jeanette, he was blessed with 3 step sons, Jack, Greg, and Ted. All of whom he loved very much.

Roy & Jeanette spent many years being snowbirds in Arizona with his brother Ralph and sister-in -law Jo. He & Ralph volunteered at the Spring Training camp for the Mariners. After his brother Ralph passed away, they continued going to Arizona where they stayed with Jeanette's sister Marlene, of Lake Havasu City. They enjoyed life together for nearly 30 years. He lost his "little sugar lump" Christmas Eve 2019.

With no children of his own he doted on his nieces and nephews: Linda, Cindy, Cathy, Gary, Nino, Brenda and continued with their children: Eric, Trevor, Kiley, Chad, RJ, Zack, Drew, Shawna, Mariah and Noah.

You would be hard pressed to find anyone who was "not" the brunt of "The Brandt Boys" pranks & jokes. They lived life to the fullest! Although he was a jokester he had a kind and gentle heart and would do anything for anyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Leonard and Olive, his sister Georgia, brother Ralph, and niece Cindy Adams.

He is survived by 3 step sons; Jack Klein (Brenda), Greg Klein (Donna), Ted Klein (Kathy) 3 sister-in-laws; Jo Brandt (Jerry), Marlene Reeder, Jean Strassenberger (George). Niece's/Great nieces; Linda Rose (Bill), Cathy Crossman (Rick), Brenda Deboodt (Mark), Shawna Brandt, Mariah Deboodt,  Cheri, Claudine.
