Ruth Marjorie (Carlile) Brennecke

Ruth Marjorie (Carlile) Brennecke was born May 10, 1927, in Denton, Texas and passed away on June 11, 2023 at North Star Retirement Community in Coeur d' Alene.

Ruth lived her early years in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado before coming to Idaho.

She married Otto Brennecke on December 24, 1949 in Post Falls.  They were married 64 years.  Ruth was a longtime resident of Post Falls, and helped operate Otto's 76 Union Service station for 25 years.  She was a member of the Post Falls Community Presbyterian Church and was very involved, plus various clubs and organizations in the community.  After retirement they moved to Rathdrum and were part of the Rathdrum Bible Church and Senior Center.  Upon Otto's retirement they enjoyed many RV trips, especially to Yuma, AZ.  After a house fire in Rathdrum Ruth moved into Bestland Senior Living in CDA.  When she was no longer independant Ruth then moved to The Lodge in Post Falls and recently to North Star retirement Community in Coeur d' Alene.

Ruth will be remembered for her love in serving others and her ready smile.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include her four children: Gary and Leigh Brennecke, Cody Brennecke, Cody Brennecke and June Witt of CDA, and Jane Robison of Twin Falls; her 7 grandchildren: Jennifer, Sonny, Matthew, and Kevin Robison.  Timothy and Jonathan Brennecke, and Elizabeth Witt Shoop; and 2 great-granddaughters: Mariam Brennecke and Emily Shoop.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, June 17, at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls, Idaho.  The family recommends memorial contributions be given to either the Post Falls or Rathdrum Senior Centers.

The family wishes to thank the staff at North Star for their care and expressions of love and concern.  Also, we want to thank Hospice of North Idaho staff for their assistance in her final hours.
