Samuel J. Wylie of Post Falls, Idaho passed away on April 9, 2023.  

Sam was born on February 24, 1935, in Glenns Ferry, Idaho to Samuel J. Wylie Sr. and Jesse F. Wylie.  After graduating from High School he went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad.  While with the Railroad he was drafted into the US Army and served two years, returning to the Railroad after his service ended.  In 1957 Sam entered on duty with the US Border Patrol at Chula Vista, California serving several years before transferring to the Alcohol and Tobacco Division of the IRS, retiring from Government service in Helena, MT. in 1985. After retirement, Sam was a fire investigator in Idaho for 10 years.

Sam married Vera L. Heath in Elko, Nevada.  Sam was preceded in death by Vera, his son Samuel C. Wylie, grandchildren, Christie M. Kays, Eric D. Wylie, and great-grandchildren, Dahlia and Ashley Daily.

Sam is survived by his wife, Lillian, and his daughters, Rhonda Kays (Warren), Janet Wylie (Pat), and Sandra Foster (Dan).  He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  

Sam married Lillian L. Arellano an old family friend in 2018.  They have numerous children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren between them.

Sam was an amazing man.  He was loved very much and will always be missed.

There will be a Memorial Service for Sam held on Saturday, July 15th at 1:00 PM at Journey of Hope 3555 E. 12th Ave. Post Falls, Idaho
