Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister—but most of all, a best friend—Sandra Gayle Pollard lived a life defined by love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born in Bremerton, Washington, Sandra spent time in Oregon and Oklahoma, where she met the love of her life, Arley Pollard. Together, they built a life that spanned 47 years of marriage, eventually settling in Idaho where they laid down roots and created a close, loving family.
Sandra made things happen—no matter the circumstances. Whether she was broke, tired, or uncertain, she always showed up. Dinners were made, holidays were celebrated, birthdays were never forgotten. She was the glue that held everyone together.
Though she stood just 5’1” and 85 pounds, Sandra carried herself like she was seven feet tall. Her presence filled every room, and her strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan, never missing a moment. Every game, every concert, every track meet—rain, snow, wind, or hail—she was there, cheering them on with pride and love.
For 40 years, Sandra cared for adults and children with developmental disabilities. It wasn’t just a job—it was her calling. She loved each and every person she cared for, giving them not only her time, but her whole heart.
Sandra had a passion for style and a love for a great outfit, always paired with the perfect boots—owning over 60 pairs, some never even worn. Her sense of style was unmatched, and she found joy in shopping and expressing herself through fashion.
She also knew how to enjoy life. She loved karaoke nights with her husband and friends, and you could always find her out on the dance floor, full of laughter and energy. She loved sunshine, warm weather, and making memories with those she loved.
Strong, funny, and never one to hold back, Sandra always said what was on her mind. That honesty, along with her fierce love, is what made her so unforgettable.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Arley Pollard; her daughters, Misty Shedenhelm and Terah Pollard-Norris; her grandchildren, Kaizia Kupka, Kaiden Pollard, Kaileb Pollard, and Kolby Pollard-Norris; and her great-grandchildren, Roman Packer and Maycee Kupka.
Sandra will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her love, her strength, and the way she showed up for her family will live on in all who knew and loved her.
A private family service will be held.
