Sharon Jones fell asleep in death on the morning of July 3, 2026, with her devoted husband on 59 years, Neal, by her side. She passed away from heart failure due to severe coronary artery disease. A long-time member of Jehobah’s Witnesses, she was baptized on July 30 th , 1960, and faced death with unwavering trust in Jehovah’ God’s promise of a resurrection to life on a paradise Earth, as assured at Luke 23:43.
Born on June 21, 1944, to Carl and Thelma Weyen, Sharon spent her childhood on the family farm in Reardan, WA, together with her younger sister, Linda. On December 3 rd , 1966, she married her childhood friend turned sweetheart, Neal Jones. Though told shewould never have children, Sharon and Neal joyfully welcomed two children: Elliot in1979 and Julie in 1981. Her children grew up hearing vivid stories of farm life - from a rabid coyote climbing onto their grandfather’s tractor to towering snowdrifts that swallowed the family car as it pushed through like a locomotive.
Sharon loved to travel, especially to national parks. She explored Hawaii, Alaska, the Inland Northwest, and the Southwest, but Yellowstone remained one of her favorites, a place she returned to often over the years. She was also an accomplished seamstress who lovingly sewed clothing for her family, and in later years she found joy in quilting, Sharon was always open to learning something new and engaged in life despite life- long health complications.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Neal; her children, Elliot and Julie; her sister, Linda; her nephews, Ryan and Shane; and her mother, Thelma. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 8500 N. Ramsey Rd, Hayden. ID on July 25 th at 4pm. All who loved her eagerly await the day when they will see her again, as promised at John 5:28,29.
