Shelba Pool

Pastor Shelba Pool passed away at her home on October 4, 2025. She was born Shelba Dean Scraper to John C. Scraper and Jesse Nadine Scraper on November 4, 1954, in Fallon, Nevada. During her childhood, she lived in various different places before settling in Rathdrum, Idaho, where she graduated from Rathdrum High School. Shortly after graduation, Shelba married James L. Pool. They were married for 53 years spending their time together in love, ministry and service to others. They had 2 daughters, and 2 grandchildren.

Shelba dedicated the majority of her life and time to pastoring alongside her husband, preaching, teaching Sunday school and leading Women's Bible studies. In her spare time, she loved working in her garden amongst her veggies, flowers and roses, baking, quilting, sewing and crafting. She excelled at everything she put her hands to!

Shelba was preceeded in death by brother Monty Scraper, mother Jesse Nadine (Thomas) Scraper, father John C. Scraper and sister Donna K. Volavka. She is survived by her husband Pastor James Pool, daughters Catrina Franklin and Olana Pool, son-in-law Matt Franklin and grandchildren Angelina and Cayden Franklin; brothers Doug Scraper and Del Scraper, sister Retha Marcussen.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, 10-2 pm (including a reception dinner), at the American Legion in Post Falls (1138 E Poleline Avenue, Post Falls , ID 83854).
