Stephen Joseph McDonald

On June 10, 2023, Our Heavenly Father embraced into His arms a faithful servant, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. 

Stephen Joseph McDonald was born in California on Oct. 11, 1952, where he loved to surf and play baseball in his youth. In 1969 he moved to North Idaho where he met Bonnie Ripple, the love of his life.  They married on Sept. 4th, 1973. Together they raised seven children. Bonnie passed away in 2014, and she always remained the love of his life. 

Stephen is survived by 7 children, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters, and 4 brothers.

Stephen was an entrepreneur having several businesses, one being a former owner of Apollo Spas. Stephen held a black belt in karate and was a karate instructor. Stephen was a devout man of God who always tried to lead others to Him. He was a man of great intelligence and a history buff. He was known to many, especially by his employees as “Coach”.  Stephen left a lasting impression on all he met and will be missed terribly by his family and all who knew him.   

There will be a visitation on Monday, June 19th, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with his Rosary at 5:30 pm at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls, ID. The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 20th, 2023, at 10:30 am at St. Joan of Arc Parish, Post Falls, ID. Stephen will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, next to his love, immediately following.
