Viola "Sue" Anderson

Viola “Sue” Anderson, 78, of Post Falls, passed away peacefully on April 15th, 2022, with her family by her side after a battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

She was born to Ira Whalen and Louise Messerschmidt, in Coeur’d Alene, ID on July 1, 1943. She graduated from Post Falls High School and married the love of her life, Dell K Anderson, shortly after in 1961. They remained in Post Falls where they raised their family. Sue was a stay-at-home mother to their three children. When the children were at school, Sue found her passion for bowling and became a Tri Chem consultant in her free time.

She and Dell remained in Post Falls until Dell’s retirement, when they began their travels across the United States. As a couple, they found joy in following along with different Bluegrass Festivals and travelling in their RV. After Dell’s passing, Sue returned to Post Falls, where she enjoyed watching local Bluegrass bands, camping with family and friends at the St Joe River, watching softball, going to the casino, and reading various novels. She valued time with her family and friends, and always made a point to serve fresh cookies at any gathering.

Sue is survived by her sister Lydia Messerschmidt, daughter Jill Gardner, and her son Jerry Anderson. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kayla, Shane, and Kelli (Jesse), her great-grandchildren Nehemiah and Rhett, her sister-in-law Joyce Becker as well as many nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Dell K Anderson, her sisters Gloria Johnson, Barbara Walker, Jean Medlock, her brother Bill Messerschmidt, and her son John Anderson.

Per Sue’s request, there will be no service at this time. The family would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of Hospice of North Idaho for their dedication and care
