Terri Meyer, cherished mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the people she raised and loved so well.
Terri was born in Coeur d’Alene to Beverly Hazelton and raised by Bev and adopted father Tom Tyree. She graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1965 and married Clyde McCaw that same year.
Terri had three daughters and a son, into whom she poured her love, affection and purpose, creating for them the best possible childhood. Terri was generous with her countless gifts, making a home for many foster children, hosting numerous exchange students, preparing delicious food for every occasion, teaching 4-H, training and boarding dogs, and volunteering for organizations that kept her close to her children and grandchildren.
Modest, selfless and kind, Terri had a sharp wit and excellent sense of humor. She laughed easily and was a captivating storyteller. She was an avid reader with a clear thirst for knowledge, and she delighted in a good debate. She earned an associate’s degree from North Idaho College after her kids were safely on their way in the world. Terri’s home was filled with music, laughter, dogs, cats, kids, crafts and a joyous chaos where the memories that comfort us now were created.
Professionally, Terri held posts in a variety of industries through the years, including communications, food service, real estate and estate management, where she took extreme pride and maintained a standard of excellence.
Terri leaves behind daughters Caralee (Scott) Fraser, Krista (Erik) Zikos, and LaDonna Beaumont, son David McCaw, grandchildren Rikki, Julia & Meike McCaw, Brady (Alyssa), Joey & Oliver Fraser, Alex, Chris & Markus Zikos, Emma (Michael) Wiseman & Jack (Ariyanna) Beaumont, great grandchildren Hollyn Wiseman and Dahlia Fraser, sister Michelle (Robert) Redtfeldt, former husband Clyde McCaw and many cherished extended family and friends. They will all miss her every day.
A celebration of Terri’s life is planned for the spring of 2025.
