Tim Jank left us on September 8, 2025, at home in Hayden Lake, Idaho, bag packed, ready to hit the Clark Fork River for a fly‑fishing trip. We’re taking him there anyway, because if Tim taught us anything, it’s that adventures don’t wait.
Born December 7, 1955, in Saginaw, Michigan, Tim was the youngest of five and made sure life was never dull. On the football field, he was legendary, helping lead Arthur Hill High School to an undefeated, unscored‑upon season. A record that still stands. After graduating from Alma College, he began his career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen in Chicago.
But Tim’s spirit could never be contained by spreadsheets. He restored a classic Porsche and drove it cross‑country to Newport Beach, California, where fate and a shared sense of humor introduced him to Pamela Brown. They married in 1982, beginning 43 years of laughter, adventure, and a steady stream of projects that kept life interesting.
Together, they raised three spirited children, remodeled homes in Newport Beach, and in 1990 traded California’s bustle for the Lakes and Trees of Hayden Lake, Idaho. Tim built custom homes through his construction business while Pam worked in real estate. Their final home overlooked the waterfalls and ponds of Avondale Golf Club, where Tim spent countless hours golfing, good‑naturedly trash‑talking, and entertaining friends.
Tim didn’t just have hobbies, he devoured them. He backpacked through Europe, hunted caribou in Alaska, fly‑fished and deep‑sea fished from Chile to Costa Rica, boated every lake and ocean he could find, and played golf on courses across the globe. If there was an adventure, Tim was packed before you finished the sentence. He loved classic cars, storytelling, and living by his motto: “He who dies with the most toys wins.” And while we can’t confirm the scoreboard, we’re pretty sure he’s in the lead.
He lived big, loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and left an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to know him. His story isn’t over—it’s simply turned into his greatest adventure yet.
