Timothy Lee Missamore, 74, passed away on February 10, 2026, in Rapid City, SD. Born in Taft, CA, he lived a life marked by deep faith, heartfelt connections, a genuine love for conversation, and a spirit of adventure.
Affectionately known as Tim, he had a warm presence and a laugh that could light up any room. A gifted conversationalist, he loved sharing stories and wisdom that reflected both his sharp mind and his kind heart. He loved the Lord with all his heart and had an exceptional knowledge of the Bible. His faith guided him throughout his life and brought comfort to those around him.
Tim’s devotion to his family was unwavering. He loved deeply and took immense pride in each of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ellwood Lee Missamore, and his mother, Peggy Sue Kelsay.
He is survived by his sisters, Paula (Jim), Paige, and Amy (Jack); his children, Carol (Tim), Wayne, Ellwood “Woody” (Michelle), Kia (Nikole), Kasey, Katie, Kooper, Kolten (Charlene), Kristy, Korilei, and Hannah; his ten grandchildren, Ashley (Aaron), Chelsea (Jake), Grace, Brody, Kade, Griffen, Gabe, Boone, Astraea, and Ellie; and his five great-grandchildren, Hadley, Tommy, Tucker, Johnny, and Benny, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends.
Tim had an adventurous spirit from early in life. He lived in many places around the world, including Jakarta, Dubai, Singapore, the Cook Islands, and Hawaii. He also traveled to Greece, Tahiti, Hong Kong, Tripoli, and numerous other destinations.
He eventually settled for many years in Spokane Valley, WA, where he worked at Torque-Amatic before opening a Detroit Diesel company, Northwest Transmission, in Post Falls, ID. His father, Ellwood, and his son Wayne worked alongside him at Northwest Transmission — something he was especially proud of. He later built and operated Quarter Horse RV Park off I-90 at the state line, providing luxury camping experiences to many visitors. Never a man to be bound by the limits of one career, Tim also found time to manage resorts in both Hawaii and the Cook Islands before transitioning to work in the combined heat and power industry. He and his son Kooper owned and operated Cogen Service, continuing his legacy of entrepreneurship and hard work.
In his younger years, Tim enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, and cheering on his children at their sporting events. He was strong and funny, yet more tender-hearted than most people realized. He loved animals, the mountains, and the ocean. In his older years, Tim continued to have a passion for exploring new places, cheering on his children as they moved through their own stages of life, and doling out wisdom as needed.
Tim did not grow up with much and attended more than 17 different high schools. He was incredibly proud of the life he built through determination, faith, and resilience. He loved to cook, share recipes, try new gadgets, and surprise his children with thoughtful and fun finds.
In 2021, he and two of his children survived being struck by a vehicle while walking out of a store. He worked tirelessly to overcome the injuries he sustained. More recently, he fought and completed cancer treatment with remarkable strength and positivity. His doctors even encouraged him to become an advocate for other patients because of his unwavering optimism and encouragement during such a difficult journey.
He was excited about the next chapter of his life and was looking forward to warm beach days ahead with his youngest daughter, Hannah. Though God had other plans and took him home unexpectedly on a Tuesday morning, we find comfort knowing he was at peace and ready for his next great adventure. We picture him smiling down on us from heaven, the sun shining on his face, knowing his job here was done well.
We love you, Dad. Thank you for everything — until we meet again.
Visitation will be held at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls, ID on Friday, February 20, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. A graveside service will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls, ID on Saturday, February 21, at 1:30 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at the Coeur d’Alene Iron Horse Event Center from 3:00–5:00 p.m.
