Vernon "Loni" Lon Paulsen

Vernon Lon “Loni” Paulsen Jr. was born October 5, 1961 in Kellogg, ID, to Vernon and Marsha (Grant) Paulsen. He was the last surviving child of four. He passed June 9, 2023 in Coeur d’ Alene, ID, at the age of 61. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Tami Jo (Evenson) Paulsen, his four adult children: son Zachary, daughters Savannah, Justine, Kaitlyn and their children. Loni was a hard working man who seldom rested. He was always busy with a project at home when not at work. A wonderful carpenter, mechanic, roofer, painter, plumber, if something around the house needed done he could do it. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it and could often be found shoveling out the neighbors in the winter or helping them build a porch in the summer. When he did take time off he would head for the woods to hunt shed elk horns and ride his 4wheeler like the kid he was at heart.

Underneath his gruff exterior and booming voice lived a loving soul. Rescuing feral kittens and adopting two of them, bring home fourteen chicks from the feed store instead of four because he was afraid the others wouldn’t get good homes, fostering pets for friends in times of need, baby sitting neighborhood children and teaching the older ones carpentry and mechanics, he always turned into a big softy around kids and critters. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Loni at Corbin Park on Saturday, July 29 th , 1:00pm. Cold drink and snacks will be provided but please feel free to BYOB and BBQs are available to use if you would care to picnic or tailgate.

Children are welcome but there are NO lifeguards at the river. Please be aware it is swim at your own risk.

Horseshoe pits and Frisbee golf are available. You will need to provide your own shoes and frisbees. There is also a baseball diamond but it may be in use.
