William Cox

William “Bill” T. Cox, of Rathdrum, Idaho, passed away peacefully in his sleep (Non-COVID related) on Feb. 19, 2021, at Schneidmiller Hospice House, with his daughter by his side. Bill was 83 years old.

He was born June 24, 1937, in Haileyville, Okla., to Ellen and Roy Cox. As a young boy he lived with a foster family in Sanders, Idaho.

He then found his way to Southern Idaho, where he lived and worked in the logging industry for many years. He married Arden Roberts and they had three children, Kelly, Kurtis and Karrie. In 1972 they moved to Northern Idaho, where he continued to work in the logging industry and years later he became a long-haul truck driver. The family had many adventures, to include camping, fishing, hunting and taking vacations. Later in life, Bill became a grandpa to Heather and Tyler Loudenback and Tyler Cox, and many years after that, a great-grandpa to Kyla Antonelli and Adilyn Garnett.

In 1992 he married Nancy Miller in Reno, Nev., and afterward, resided in Rathdrum until his death. Bill added to his family by becoming step-dad to Nancy's children, Daryl Starr and Sandra Lind. He and Nancy enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at hunting camp in the fall, as well as taking many day trips around the Inland Northwest.

Bill worked for Yellowstone Trucking for 18 years until his retirement in 1999.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
