ANNE (LUCILLE) BOICE HALVERSON, 86 years old, Nov 27, 1934 - Jan 20, 2021

Anne (Annie) Boice Halverson was the loving mother of 3 children: Mark Halverson (wife Kathy) of Post Falls, ID; Kim Lancaster (husband Brad) of Shoreline, WA; and Heidi Halverson Wolf (husband Scott) of Post Falls, ID.  She was preceded in death by her birth-mother Birdie Lucille (Collings) Boice, father Charles Boice, mother Francis (Musser) Boice, brother Stephen Boice and sister LuBelle Boice.  She is survived by her loving husband Arthur (Buzz) Halverson of Coeur d’Alene, ID; brother Walter Boice (wife Carol) of Newport Beach, CA; and her sister-in-law Jane Simpson of Tucson, AZ.  She was the adored grandmother to 6 grandchildren: Dale Harvey of Post Falls, ID; Jacob Halverson of Brownsburg, IN; Jessica Halverson of Oldsmar, FL; Hailey Hiebert of Blanchard, ID; Matthew Wolf of Boise, ID; and Hannah Wolf of Post Falls, ID.  Annie enjoyed 6 great-grandchildren: Jackson and Nicole Harvey, Lincoln and Hazel Halverson, and Jared and Juliet Hiebert.  She also had many loving nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  She also had so many loving friends in North Idaho, Tucson Arizona and Southern California.

Her family will remember her kind and generous nature.  Born in Pasadena, California in 1934, she was raised on an Arizona cattle ranch and in Newport Beach CA.  Annie graduated from Chadwick Private High School in California, and then earned a degree in Education from the University of Arizona.  Annie was a Sorority Sister of Delta Gamma, a Pom-Pom girl, and homecoming Princess.  It was at the University of Arizona that she met her Husband and lifelong companion, Buzz Halverson.  Annie and Buzz enjoyed decades of homecoming tailgating at the University of Arizona “Old Letterman’s Club” throughout their life.

Buzz was commissioned in the United States Air Force after graduation from the University of Arizona and quickly rose to the rank of Colonel.  As any veteran of the armed services during the 1950’s through 1970’s knows, the success of the Officer is highly dependent on the skill and aptitude of the Officer’s wife.  Annie was the prototypical military wife, holding her family together during her husband’s numerous deployments overseas, who was deployed overseas during every year of the Vietnam War, and helping other military families adjust to the demands of military life.

While stationed in the Washington D.C. area, Annie had the opportunity to train in the burgeoning field of Aerobics.  Annie was among the first qualified Aerobics Instructors in the United States, and the first person to bring Aerobics to North Idaho.  Annie went on to teach Aerobics, Water Aerobics and Personal Fitness for some 30+ years at Peak Health and Wellness in Coeur d’Alene ID, other private Health Clubs throughout the Northwestern U.S., and at North Idaho College.

Among other interests, Annie excelled at skiing.  Annie was a Washington State Women’s State Water Skiing champion.  If you spent time on the slopes of Schweitzer Mountain during the period from the 1960’s through 2000’s, you undoubtedly saw Annie there!  Annie also enjoyed traveling internationally with Francis and traveling throughout the U.S. to visit children and grandchildren and attend their various sporting events.  She also enjoyed hosting friends and family alike during beautiful summers on Hayden Lake.

Annie’s family would like to take this opportunity to thank Renaissance Assisted Living of Coeur d’Alene and Hospice of North Idaho for their loving care of Annie during this last year.  You helped make a very difficult time tolerable, and your compassion and care and guidance and wisdom were so greatly appreciated.
