Betty Louise Cameron, 87, of Kellogg, Idaho passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on June 26, 2020 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.
Betty was born in Colville, WA to Henry and Eva Linke on November 19, 1932. She grew up and lived most of her childhood in the Colville region. She married Vern Cameron in Davenport, WA on March 17th and started their family there. She remained married to Vern for 54 years, until his death in 2003. In 1960, they moved their family of three children to Kellogg, Idaho. Betty and Vern bought the Coast to Coast Hardware Store. Betty and Vern owned and operated their business successfully for over 20 years.
Betty was passionate about their family business. All three of her children were actively involved working in the store with her and Vern. The sale of the hardware store led to a life of being a cattle rancher, horse breeder, and farmer. Most of her post hardware store life was spent in Medimont, Idaho, in Evans Creek, on the B & V Ranch. During her last years of her career life, Betty worked at Valley Building Center, was an owner of The Boat Restaurant in Smelterville, ID and dedicated herself to being President of the Kellogg Senior Center.
Betty was active in the communities of Kellogg, Smelterville, Pinehurst and Medimont. All that knew her, witnessed her generosity, kindness, and sense of humor. Betty was a loyal friend, loving mother, grandmother and a dedicated wife. Her family was everything to her. Despite her busy life of owning multiple businesses, a thriving life on the ranch and doing land development, her joy was watching her three children marry and start families of their own. Betty loved cooking, canning, and gardening. She enjoyed country music and dancing.
Betty Cameron is preceded in death by her husband Vern Cameron and son Rick Cameron.
Betty is survived by her two daughters Vicki Hill (Centreville, VA), Micki Bidon (Hayden, ID), and Daughter-in-law Jana Cameron (Cataldo, ID). Her children have created a loving legacy of a large family of 7 grandchildren: Michele Gunderson, Melaine Moore, Matthew Hei, Nicki Atha, Chad Cameron, Katie Wise, Mike Korff, eighteen great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.
She will be missed greatly and loved forever.
