Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
Madeliene “Kay” Creasey was called to heaven on March 15, 2021 at the age of 78.
Kay found her Happy Place on a small slice of the Pend Oreille river in Sagle, Idaho. Eagles, osprey, a captivating view of the water, and the finest neighbors one could ask for made her life good. Family made her life great. Kay was proud of her four children, but her grandchildren put the sparkle in her eyes. Summer “camps” on the river were filled with projects, painting, building, yard work, and crafts, crafts, crafts. Multiple trips to the Home Depot for supplies earned her crew a trip to the dock and Grandma Kay a much-needed glass of Shiraz. Evenings were time for feet up, the Hallmark Channel, and a bit more Shiraz.
Kay’s quiet confidence, creative nature, and ample tool collection allowed her to design and build anything she imagined. Kay made beautiful quilts, costumes for the grandkids, and yule logs each year to bring good luck. She shared her skills with all who wanted to learn and created some terrific memories in the process.
Wednesday afternoon golf with the women’s league at the Elks club brought a smile to Kay’s face, regardless of her score. Kay enjoyed trips to Red Hawk Casino with MaryAnn & Jo to test her luck at the Wheel of Fortune machine. Marathon shopping days with sister Deb, long chats with brother Fred, and any time spent with her kids and their families were all happy times for Kay.
Thank you, Mom. We are proud to be a part of your legacy. We will carry your love and lessons with us until we see you again. Enjoy your journey Mom, where we know that you have a beautiful river, a workshop, and a wineglass that is always full.
