Marjorie May Denny

May 1, 1934 - June 24, 2021

This obituary is about the life of Margie Denny, before the effects of Alzheimers ravaged her life. A life that ended at 5:55 p.m. on June 24, 2021. A spunky child was born on May 1, 1934 at the Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Washington. The extremely proud parents were Arnold and Mabel Adams. Margie was the second child born to her parents, to be followed by two more children.

The lower South Hill was to be her home during her early years. From this base, Margie would trudge up the South Hill with her little dog, Pepper, by her side to practice softball. Later the quest for education would lead her to Lewis and Clark High School, where she became a drum majorette. While marching with the band during the Lilac Parade, she missed catching the baton. The baton fell under a car, but was saved by a helpful spectator.

Margie married early and became blessed by two strapping boys. This marriage ended with a dissolution of the marriage. This set the stage for her subsequent marriage to Mike Dolan with his three kids. Now we have 5 kids, which was enhanced to seven with the birth of a set of twins.

This happy gang ended up in a large house up Carscallen road, near Potlatch, Idaho. Margie, the homemaker, was always highly energetic. She found time to paint the entire house with a brush, and to fence part of the property. The fencing was a little zig-zaggy because the fence was attached to trees, or anything else that would allow for attachment. Community involvement included participating in Potlatch Logger Days. All of the boys won their individual races, and Margie won her race.

After the Potlatch house burned, the family moved to Fallon, Nevada where they had ownership interest in the Stockman Cafe and Casino. From Fallon, the Dolan family moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

After moving in Coeur d'Alene, there was a dissolution of the marriage, which caused a period of hardship for Margie. She overcame her hardship by becoming the Executive Housekeeper at the Holiday Inn for the next 20 years. During this time she met and married Curt Denny. A close, inseparable, bond existed for the next 40 plus years, or until her death. During this time, animals (mostly strays and adoptive) were an integral part of the family.

Margie was preceded in death by her sister Rose Marie and daughter Linda.

survivors remaining are Curt Danny (husband), Mike Dolan (son), Lee Dolan (son), Scott and Heidi Dolan, Ray and Candy Dolan, Terry and Shirley Dolan, Mary Roisin and Clifford Leen, Nora Jean Moore (sister), and Jim Adams (brother), as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and many animals.

Margie, you have earned your way: Take the train to the Rainbow Bridge.
