Nancy L Holiman

Feb. 2, 1952 - Oct. 2, 2021

Nancy passed away suddenly on Oct. 2, 2021, in Harrison, Idaho.

Nancy was born in Everett, Wash., to Henry and Peggy Sherman. She grew up in Marysville, Wash., and graduated in 1970 from Marysville High School and Everett Community College in 1973. In 1974 she married her high school sweetheart, Mike Holiman, and celebrated 47 years of marriage earlier this year. They were blessed with two children, Linsy R. Holiman, Arizona, and Craig M. Holiman, Post Falls, Idaho.

Nancy enjoyed a long and successful banking career beginning in 1973 with Washington Mutual Savings Bank and retired from Skagit State Bank as Senior Vice President and branch manager of the Arlington Branch in 2017. She was dedicated to serving her community. She was a past president of the Red Cross, Campfire and Credit Professionals District 10. She was an active member of Rotary and United Way and served on the board of the Stillaguamish Senior Center.

Mike and Nancy built a beautiful home in Arlington, Wash., where they lived for 21 years. Not long after retirement, they moved to Harrison, Idaho, on beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene. They loved boating, the wildlife and the peace and serenity they felt there. Nancy enjoyed boating, traveling, time spent with family and snuggling with her puppies, Chestnut and Sadie. One of her favorite places to be was at their timeshare in Los Cabos, Mexico.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Mike, daughter Linsy Holiman, son Craig Holiman, wife Tricia and two beautiful grandsons she loved to spoil Gavin and Zachary. Also survived by sisters Susan (Bruce) Udman, Vickie (Brian) Melseth and brother Allen (Lynnette) Sherman, brother-in-law Charles (Melissa) Holiman and sister-in-law Kari Holiman and best friend DyAnn Bauer. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Peggy Sherman, father-in-law Charlie Holiman, mother-in-law Evalyn (Holiman) Krause and father-in-law Ed Krause.

Nancy was a special friend to so many. She always had a genuine concern for each one as to what was going on in their lives. She believed in the power of prayer and often recruited others to pray for a friend in need. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend. Her loss will be felt by so many. She will be loved and never forgotten.

Nancy loved life and lived it to the fullest! Now rest in peace.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be announced at a later date in both Washington and Idaho. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity, the Red Cross or local Humane Society.
