Penni (Cordes) Mahieu

1935 - 2021

Penni Mahieu (born Harriett Josephine Cordes) was born August 21, 1935 in Chicago Heights, Illinois. She was the firstborn of her family, and soon Barbara, Judy and Bob came along.

I have know Penny for a number of years. Because of my profession, I was able to talk with her and come to know her strength in adverse conditions. She was always so positive and had a smile on her face. Beautiful both inside and out. I am sorry to hear of her passing. I bet she left this world with a smile on her face. So happy I was privileged to have known you, Penny.

I met Penni several years ago and so enjoyed the few times we ran into each other.  She was a true "lady" and someone you would want to aspire to be like!  Sadly I haven't seen in a long time but she will always be someone I admired.  Condolences to the entire family.

Penni was someone who was friend to everyone she met. She was classy, compassionate, and down to earth. She was grandmother and mother to so many people. She would take time to listen to people. She was so talented in so many ways but would not flaunt it. Penni, I consider it an incredible privilege to have spent time with you and glean your wisdom and be challenged to be a better person. You were my friend and my mentor and I will miss you so much.
I know you are in the arms of Jesus and my consolation is I get to spend eternity with you when I get to the other side.

Penni was such a sweet lady.  I will miss hearing about her wonderful adventures and love of aviation.  Eric, I am sorry for your loss. She will be missed.
